Alfonso joined Rodríguez & Cavelier back in 2004.
He devotes most of his practice time to
aircraft finance and leasing law, representing foreign banks and aircraft equipment lessors, and he is a member of the
Space Law Practice.
He has been involved in complex structured finance transactions, as well as in permanently advising airlines in obtaining traffic rights under bilateral air transport agreements and in handling the procedures leading to commencement of airline operations in Colombia.
He also advised during 2006-2007 the Universidad Sergio Arboleda on the legal aspects of the launching into spaces of the first Colombian satellite.
Alfonso is an attorney from the Faculty of Jurisprudence of the Universidad del Rosario and holds an LL.M. in international air and space law from Leiden University in The Netherlands, where his main area of interest revolved around aircraft transactions.
