Armando Parra Escobar

Founding partner of Rodriguez & Cavelier, and one of the most prominent tax lawyers in Colombia, Armando advises some of the most important financial institutions and is the head counsel in tax matters to the largest Colombian financial group.

Armando has written several tax law books such as “New Taxation System", "Taxpayer's Statute"; "Tax Law Data System", and "Tax Planning for the Companies' Organization” and, has also been a professor in tax law, both in graduate and post-graduate courses for more than 25 years at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

He has acted in the past as Secretary of the Drafting Commission of Tax Regulations; of the General Customs Board, the National Council on Statistics in representation of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, President of the Colombian chapter of the International Fiscal Association, Head of the Legal Office and Alternate Economic Advisor of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Head of the Office of Tax Information of the General Direction of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, and is the founder and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law (ICDT).

Armando holds a degree in Law and Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
