Ernesto Cavelier-Franco

Founding partner of Rodriguez & Cavelier, Ernesto holds one of the most traditional backgrounds in the legal profession in Colombia, being a highly skilled business and transactional lawyer, and among the authorities in IP law, both domestically and internationally.

Recent transactions lead by Ernesto include privatizations of the energy sector, foreign investments in the oil and commercial industries, mergers and acquisitions in the aeronautical, financial and insurance sectors, to mention but a few.

Ernesto is a highly active member of the American Bar Association (SILP; SLPM), International Bar Association (SBL, SERL), Licensing Executives Society Andean Community; Mining and Oil Lawyer’s Association, Colombian Academy of Law and of the Alumni Association of the Academy of American and International Law.

His academic profile includes studies of comparative law at New York University, European Law at Amsterdam University, and business at Peter F. Drucker Management Center, at the Claremont University in California.
